On January 7, 2020 the First Officer of The Covenant of the Goddess released a statement on the attacks in New York at the home of Rabbi Chaim.
Statement on Hanukkah Attacks
The Covenant of the Goddess is horrified and dismayed at the attack on Hasidic Jews at the Hanukkah celebration at the home of Rabbi Chaim Rottenberg in Monsey, New York, on December 28, 2019. Our hearts go out to those who have been injured and those who have been terrorized.
The First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution state; “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion.” Therefore, any attack on a religious minority is an attack on all religious minorities. Our government authorities are charged with assuring, protecting and defending citizens of all religions.
We stand in solidarity with Congregation Netzach Yisroel and all other victims of such hate crimes. Religious intolerance and bigotry are not a part of the moral fiber of America beliefs. We stand ready to defend our Constitutional Rights! We call for peace and religious harmony to unify us as Americans in this new year.
